DISCRETIONARY MEDICAL CARDS are available to people who do not pass the means test criteria for a card.
These cards are issued for the duration of cancer treatment only, to help with the extra financial burdens
associated with cancer treatment. It is well worth applying for this Discretionary Medical Card.
The Irish Cancer Society fought for this allowance and so is the best place to contact about
it as these cards are not widely advertised. Tel: 1800 200 700
